The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) will soon have a NADRA Desk within its premises to facilitate its members. This was decided in a meeting between LCCI Vice President Kashif Anwar and Director General NADRA Brigadier Muhammad Javaid Iqbal Khan (Retd) here at NADRA office on Friday.
Brigadier Javaid Iqbal informed the LCCI Vice President that NADRA is taking all possible measures to facilitate the masses and the establishment of a dedicated NDARA Desk at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry; it would help achieve this goal. He said that NADRA has already made arrangements with various institutions including banks to verify NADRA-related documents.
He said he would soon be sending a NADRA team to the LCCI to prepare a detailed report for the early establishment of the Desk. He said the requirement of identification document for evidentiary purposes is incomplete without proper verification mechanism. Having developed Multi-Biometric National Identity Card for Pakistan backed up by the large centralised national database in the world, NADRA has introduced an easy-to-use access tool for verification of citizens in the country named as Verisys.
To verify the issued CNIC and avoid any fraudulent activities NADRA launched "Verisys", which is an authentication process to provide online verifications of Pakistani citizens to the government, private and corporate sectors for bringing in transparency, validation, elimination of fraud and forgery. This is a web-based real-time activity displaying the front and rear image of the CNIC with added hidden information for verifications. Using NADRA's strong network infrastructure, a reliable and efficient mode of connectivity is provided to clients even in the remotest areas of Pakistan.
LCCI Vice President Kashif Anwar thanked the DG NADRA for accepting the LCCI demand in the larger interest of the business community. He informed the Brigadier that LCCI President Sohail Lashari is a staunch believer of one window operations and the idea to establish NADRA Desk is actually a step in this direction. He said a number of help desks including SMEDA help desk are already satisfactorily functioning within the premises of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He said the LCCI is also seeking approval from the Interior Ministry for the setting up of a counter to process the passports of the LCCI members. He said as soon as the LCCI gets the approval the Interior Ministry Desk would also be established. The LCCI Vice President said the LCCI always appreciates NADRA for attaining the status of the most transparent and respectable institution of the government that has ensured guaranteed identification of Pakistani nationals around the world.
