Customs seize 800 smuggled tyres worth Rs 15 million

Anti-Smuggling Wing of Directorate Customs Intelligence & Investigation-FBR, Karachi on Friday confiscated 800 smuggled tyres worth Rs 15 million from a godown in Karachi. According to official sources, a joint raid conducted by Intelligence officers and Pakistan Rangers on a secret information has resulted in seizure of 800 smuggled tyres worth Rs 13 million.
They said that a suspect, who was allegedly involved in this illicit business, had also been taken into custody. Moreover, sources said that further investigation was underway and FIR and Challan would be submitted in the competent Court after legal proceedings. In another raid, Anti-Smuggling Wing of the Customs Intelligence & Investigation-FBR, Karachi had also recovered 300 smuggled tyres valuing Rs 3 million.
