KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak Sunday said that the provincial government has chalked out a comprehensive plan for setting up hundreds of small hydel power stations to generate cheap energy and make the province attractive for investment and industrial development.
Addressing a public meeting at Nizampur, district Nowshera; he said for the new financial year they had fixed a target of generating 2000 megawatt electricity, which would be provided to the adjacent industrial units on very reasonable rate.
The chief minister said that the budget will be focused on students, unemployed youth, special persons and poor; and taking of solid welfare oriented and realistic steps in this regard. He said that a number of mega projects including Peshawar mass transit will be part of the new budget. He said that a unique characteristic of the development strategy of the PTI led coalition government will be master planning of all cities and towns of the province including Peshawar that he said was totally ignored in the past.
He said from now onwards developmental works in all cities and towns including the public and private constructions will be undertaken under well-conceived master planning.
On this occasion a PPP activist Hameed and Samiullah Khattak along with his hundreds of supporter and family members announced joining PTI and expressed full confidence in central and provincial party leadership and CM, as well as assured all sacrifices for party manifesto. Provincial President of PTI Azam Swati was also present on this occasion.
Pervez Khattak termed the federal budget anti poor and malafide saying that not only the rights of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are usurped but drone attack was made on 90% of people of the country except a special rich group of Punjab. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was wrongly thinking that spending resources of the entire county only on mega projects in certain areas of Punjab will benefit his investment community on one hand while win the people of this province as well as he said unless realistic steps for welfare of poor are not taken, the masses could not think good for their rulers but the cases of suicide will go on rise in society.
He said that the nation and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in particular are made venerable to price hike by increasing the gas tariff while no projects of hydel power stations and other sectors were given to KP. Similarly our province was deprived of so many rights including the payment of our surplus water. He said they would not be silent spectators on all such cruelties and will thus knock the door of CCI soon.
Chief Minister expressed concern that federal government was getting interest based loans in name of investment and spending it in Punjab that will further aggravate the financial position of the country and will further increase financial problems of the people.
He said that PTI led collation government was implementing its election manifesto. He said that people especially the youth has voted us into power 100% with the hope of change that means ensuring supremacy of law, merit and justice. He said that injustices created unrest among the people but the past rules did not give heed to this fact.
He said change is visible in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa now. Police is depoliticized and has become real force to safeguard the life and property of the people. He said police jobs will be given on merit through NTS in future and there will be no postings and appointments on political basis, or auctioned by MPA, s like in past.
He said that teachers are spiritual parents of students so they must ensure punctuality to teach and make them builders of the future. He said that unified English medium education system has been launched in KP to end the class based colonial education system and thus also enable the children of poor to compete those of rich in every sphere of life.
