Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Culture, Shah Farman has said that the provincial government would soon announce a comprehensive cultural policy reflecting cultural diversity of the province and extend support to artists for continuing culture related activities.
He expressed these views here Sunday in a meeting with representatives of Culture Journalist Forum led by its President, Ehtesham Toru. The minister assured that PTI led government would address issues confronted by the artists of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with an objective to promote art and culture activities in the province.
He said that government had already extended financial support to ailing artists including Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, Khayal Muhammad and Murad Ali Alias Gulbali while other deserving artists would be compensated very soon. He told the meeting that Naeem Jan, Qamru Jan, Zarsanga and Khan Tehsil would also be extended required financial assistance.
The culture minister said that a comprehensive cultural policy representing all ethnic groups would soon be announced to facilitate artist's community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that all stakeholders would be invited to debate and share their proposals in making the policy effective and result oriented.
