Bomb planted inside Mominabad PS defused: three killed in various incidents of violence
At least three people were killed and four others injured in different incidents of violence while a bomb planted inside Mominabad police station was defused, here on Sunday. According to police and rescue sources, Jahanzaib Khan, son of Esa Khan, was shot and killed by unidentified persons near Mominabad police station. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for post-mortem.
In another incident, Shahadat Hussian, son of Shahadat Khan, was gunned down by unidentified persons near Awami Kanta in Saudabad, Malir. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.
Meanwhile, a suspect was gunned down in exchange of firing with police during an encounter in New Karachi. The identity of deceased was yet to be ascertained. The body was shifted to ASH for autopsy.
A man, Sohail, son of Shafaat Khan, was injured by unidentified gunman at Lasbella Chowk near Patel Para. The injured was rushed to JPMC for treatment.
A boy, Rajo, 17, was shot and injured by unknown assailant near Shireen Bakery in old Golimar area. He was moved to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.
The injured was said to be resident of Ranchor Line.
Two people were injured during an exchange of firing in Lyari's Kalakot area. The names of injured were yet to be ascertained however they were rushed to Civil Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, a 5.5 kilogram bomb was found planted inside Mominabad police station in Orangi Town. An official at the police station told Business Recorder that they found a bomb weighing 5.5 kg inside the station around 10:00 am, and immediately called the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) which successfully defused the bomb.
