Ambassador of Brazil to Pakistan Alfredo Leoni on Monday unveiled the official FIFA soccer ball 'Brazuca' made-in-Pakistan in a colourful ceremony held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). "It is a memorable moment that after the lapse of 32-year the FIFA soccer ball has returned to Sialkot thriving on expertise, skills and craftsmanship of local artisans. Brazuca is an informal local term which means "Brazilian" or to describe the Brazilian way of life."
Speaking on the occasion, the Brazilian Ambassador Alfredo Leoni said that Brazil is ready to kick off great Football World Cup 2014. The purpose of the visit to Sialkot is not just to promote the commercial ties between Brazil and Pakistan but also give a clear message that Embassy of Brazil in Pakistan to help Pakistani business community in doing business with Brazil and travelling, he said. The Ambassador said Brazil Embassy in Pakistan has started issuing five years multiple entry visas to Pakistani businesspeople enabling them to assess Brazilian market to introduce their products.
Brazil, he said, contributed 18 million US dollars in cash to flood victims and refugees of Pakistan over the last three year adding that Brazil has enlarged its diplomacy and more active in international fora and more attentive to other countries problem and needs especially in developing world. President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Dr Sarfraz Bashir in his welcome address said it is a great honour and proud moment and we all share it by appreciating all who have made it possible. There are immense possibilities and huge potential of joint ventures and co-operation in various feasible sectors between Pakistan and Brazil, he said. The unveil ceremony of official FIFA soccer ball was attended by a large number of business and people belonging different walks of life.
