A Police official allegedly raped a woman and then threw her down from the hill-top of a village in Haripur district on Wednesday. The incident took place in Sirikot, which is a village in Ghazi tehsil of the district. The 22-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital in critical condition for treatment.
A FIR was registered against the police official, who is a resident of Swabi. The policeman, however, managed to flee and further investigations into the incident are underway.
