Two judges declined confirmation: JC recommends 4 additional judges of SHC for confirmation

The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) on Thursday unanimously recommended for confirmation four additional judges of Sindh High Court (SHC) and rejected another two owing to their unsatisfactory performance. Those recommended for confirmation include Justice Syed Muhammad Farooq Shah, Justice Azizur Rehman, Justice Salahuddin Panhwar, and Justice Aftab Ahmed Gorar while the commission declined to recommend Justice Riazat Ali Sahar and Justice Farooq Ali Channa for confirmation.
The JCP headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani took these decisions in its meeting held at Supreme Court, Lahore Registry. Sources said all the members of JCP gave consent to confirmation of four additional judges out of six. It was revealed before the commission that performance of Justice Riazat Ali Sahar and Justice Farooq Ali Channa was not up to the mark. Justice Channa was elevated from district judiciary of Sindh while Justice Sahar was from the bar.
