Rumor has it Apple’s 2019 iPhone will have triple-lens camera
Smartphones are now turning to three lens cameras for advance picture quality and seems like Apple has jumped on the bandwagon as rumors are rife that next year’s iPhone will have this new feature.
The rumor about Apple integrating triple-lens camera in its 2019 iPhone has been surfacing for a while now. Back in early April, Taiwan’s Economic Daily News reported that the third lens would give additional zoom capability. This time, a Deutsche Securities analyst Jialin Lu is talking about the same rumor.
Lu agrees to earlier rumors of a longer focal length, but adds that the third lens would also be used to provide improved AR capabilities along with enabling advanced 3D sensing through stereoscopic vision, with two of the sensors able to capture images of a single object from different angles, wrote Mac Rumors.

Moreover, where the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X models contain 2x optical zoom, the new long-focus lens will also probably enable 3x optical zoom on an iPhone for the first time that will allow users to zoom in an image in the viewfinder by up to three times without a blurry reduction in quality.
The idea of triple-lens cameras is, however, not new. Chinese manufacturer Huawei already introduced a triple-lens camera in its recently launched Huawei P20 Pro that provides a 3x optical zoom.
