Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) on Friday initiated Safe Blood Transfusion Services with the pillars of voluntary blood donation, training of human resource, developing service delivery in blood banking and transplantation laboratory services with continuous education and training in transfusion and transplantation sciences.
The Safe Blood Transfusion Services Programme of Dow University has launched Dow Safe Blood Donors Club 25 and has enrolled and educated various government and private educational institutes, organisations, industries and private establishments about voluntary blood donation and awareness regarding diseases such as hepatitis that are transmitted from blood.
In this regard a Blood Donation Awareness Fun Fair for students and their families at was held at Cinepax Auditorium in which 50 percent discounted tickets are offered to the students, staff and their families. The programme was inaugurated with the activity of information session which was followed by a well-organised movie show. DUHS Blood Donor motivational leaders had arranged all stalls and actively distributed information material/ membership forms to the visitors.
