The Lahore High Court here on Saturday taking notice of chopping off hand from the wrist of an accused and cutting wrist of another accused during 'brutal torture' in lock-up allegedly by police directed District and Sessions Judge Vehari to look into the matter and submit a detailed report within a week. Accused Liaqat Ali and Ghulam Mustafa were arrested and booked for stealing electric wire from the main pole.
During investigation, police allegedly tortured the suspects and the wrist of Ali was completely chopped off while the wrist of Mustafa was severed partially. They were admitted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur. SHO concerned Aslam Cheema denied the allegations and said both accused had cut their wrists with blades in a bid to commit suicide.
