As many as 30 Army commandos were deployed to guard Adiala Central Jail on Sunday after its security was handed over to Pakistan Army amid the security threat. The 30 commandos deployed are instructed to aid the police and Rangers personnel on security duty. The commandos are performing joint-duty along with 50 rangers. Superintendent Jail, Malik Mushtaq said that the commandos are deployed amid the terror threat.
The commandos will also patrol around the jail. He said that the security situation is also being monitored with the help of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras. Mushtaq said that Pak army will aid the police and rangers for jail's external security.
Many inmates belonging to the banned terrorist outfits are imprisoned in Adiala Jail. It is pertinent to mention here that the federal government has assigned federal capital Islamabad's security as well to Pak army. As many as 250 army men have been be deployed on sensitive and most important areas of the city.
