In a view of expected terrorists' attacks, the government has ordered high alert across the country, besides the deployment of army personnel in the federal capital along with rangers and police personnel. Sources privy to the development told Business Recorder that the decision had been taken after the government gave a go ahead to Pakistan army to go after the militants in North Waziristan.
They said that the Ministry of Interior has issued "red alert" to all the provinces, asking them to put the security on high alert in their respective provinces, as the militants can target any important installation anywhere in the country.
In federal capital, the sources said that two platoon of Pakistan army would be deployed immediately in Islamabad especially in the Red Zone while additional personnel would be put on standby to immediately respond to any emergency in aid of law enforcement agencies. The army would assist the local police for the security of the capital at different points.
While the Islamabad Capital Territory Police and Ranger personnel are already holding a joint patrolling in the capital city on the directions of Interior Ministry. Under the new security system, the sources said that army personnel would be deployed at all important buildings as well as key installations of the city.
The latest decision to put the security on high alert has been taken following military launched Zarb-e-Azb against the foreign and local terrorists in North Waziristan.
