The Lahore High Court taking notice of a woman who was burnt alive in the office of her husband and her two daughters suffered burns has directed the District & Sessions Judge, Lahore to look into the matter and submit a detailed report within a week. According to details, the victim was identified as Sonia, wife of Azeem, a lawyer.
The victim's daughters Fatima and Maryam also sustained burns in the incident and they were admitted to hospital where both girls were stated to be in critical condition. The police said that the relationship between victim Sonia and her husband had been strained for the last two years. Sonia with her two daughters came to the office of her husband on the second floor of the plaza where she and her two daughters were caught by fire under mysterious circumstances. Rescuers shifted the three to hospital where Sonia died. The police said that it was yet to be established whether Sonia had immolated herself besides setting her two daughters ablaze or she and her two daughters were set on fire.
