Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has announced its decision to fully support and participate in the agitation drive of PAT leader Dr Tahirul Qadri against the government and the party took this decision after Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Pervez Elahi met Dr Tahirul Qadri in London.
When contacted, PML-Q spokesman Senator Kamil Ali Agha said the prevailing system in Pakistan was against the aspirations of people of Pakistan and it would deliver nothing for the masses. He said that after the killing of innocent people in Lahore, there is no point in staying back from the protest movement against the government as it has miserably failed on all fronts. He also said that the PML-Q leadership along with its allied political parties would soon announce joining the coalition against the government.
About the meeting of Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain and Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) chief Maulna Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday, he said the JUF-F chief was invited to join the anti-government movement soon to be launched by the PAT. He said that the meeting with the JUI (F) chief was part of the process agreed between Chaudhary Shujaat and Tahirul Qadri that began with the formation of a committee with certain terms of reference to secure the support for the 10-point agenda by contacting ulema and Mashaikh from all schools of thought as well as political and social figures. Fareed Paracha, the JI deputy secretary general, said that JI Ameer Sirajul Haq has already condemned the police action against PAT workers.
