Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Wednesday prayed for the recovery of party MNA Tahira Asif, who was shot multiple times in Lahore. Hussain said that he himself spoke to doctors involved in Tahira Asif's treatment. "Doctors are trying to save her life. She has been transfused with 30 bags of blood so far," he said.
He said that Tahira had asked for security, but her request was denied. "Assailants threatened Tahira before opening fire," he stated. Altaf Hussain has said that his party workers are seeking permission to protest against the attack on National Assembly member Tahira Asif but he told them to remain peaceful. He said that the party workers are angry over the murder attempt on Tahira Asif and want to protest over the incident. He said that he has told them to remain calm. The Chief MQM said that the attackers were waiting to attack her. He also said that the Parliamentarian is severely injured and appealed the nation to pray for her recovery.
