A high level meeting jointly chaired by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan and the Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Lieutenant General, Abdul Qadir Baloch (Retd) at Governor's House, Peshawar on Wednesday reviewed the ongoing arrangements to take care of the IDPs from North Waziristan.
After having a detail review, the Commissioner, Bannu Division was appointed the focal person to directly oversee the ongoing arrangements for lodging the affected people; facilitate them to the maximum extent and make sure that all the possible measures are taken to decrease their difficulties to the maximum extent. "Federal Government has already released an amount of Rs 500 millions to supplement the ongoing arrangements in this respect and the provincial government will also be constantly taken along to ensure proper security, well being and betterment of the affected tribal brethren and sisters", the meeting was informed. It was further decided that the affected families who are displaced within the North Waziristan Agency will also get full assistance under the special arrangements.
Talking on this occasion, the Governor stressed that no effort would be spared to ease the difficulties of the affected people in these makes shift arrangements. The displaced tribal families, he added, have indeed suffered a lot and we have fullest regard for the sacrifices which they have been offering for the country.
The Federal Minister, Lieutenant General Abdul Qadir Baloch (Retd) while referring to the ongoing arrangements said that he is here to convey the feelings of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to the displaced brethren and sisters from North Waziristan Agency. He further stated that no measure will be spared to supplement the ongoing efforts to decrease the difficulties of the affected people and ensure their earlier repatriation to their home places.
