Punjab Assembly here on Wednesday passed a resolution in support of army operation in North Waziristan stating that nation stood by armed forces and prayed for their success. Law Minister Rana Sanaullah tabled the resolution. The session was chaired by Rana Muhammad Iqbal. Earlier, in the session 'Fateha' was offered for the victims of Minhajul Quran incident.
Leader of the Opposition Mahmudur Rashid later castigating the event boycotted the session. Opposition members wore black bands during their protest. Meanwhile, Punjab Law Minister speaking in the house on the issue stated that a judicial commission has been formed to inquire into it. He said they would abide the finding of the commission and a strict action would be taken against those involved in it.
Punjab treasury legislators entering discussion on the proposed budget 2014-15 averred that it was a budget of economic survival. A lady legislator stated that more veterinary hospitals should be constructed in Punjab. Legislator pointed that milk can become white oil of Pakistan. Few legislators of treasury reposing hope in the proposed budget stated that with dedication results will start flowing thus making the country development prone.
Certain members of treasury giving opinion on proposed budget stated that 37 per cent additional finance had been kept for health sector. They appreciated the issuance of health card on the occasion. A legislator in the discussion pointing towards Rs 1.80 million finances kept for maternity and child welfare said that 30 million added amount had been kept for dialysis treatment. Treasury members also spoke of provincial government endeavours on energy sector on the occasion. Certain government members spoke of steps that would reduce prices of tractors in the province. The house was later adjourned by the chair.
