Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to block roaming facility of Afghanistan Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMs) in next couple of days inside Pakistan. On the request of law enforcement agencies, the PM directed the PTA to block Afghanistan SIMs in order to stop anti-state and criminal activities of terrorists inside Pakistan. The PM desired that this task might be completed in next couple of days, said a press statement.
This step would help in severing communications between the terrorists and reduce crimes like kidnapping for ransom, it added.
