The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday while taking notice of encroachments on the land of temple in Hyderabad sought report from Sindh police. Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani, while headed a three-member bench, took notice of the report appeared in a newspaper about protest against encroachments on the land of Kali Mata temple in Hyderabad.
According to report, a crowd, including members of Hindu community, staged a protest outside Hyderabad Press Club, seeking removal of the encroachments on the land of the temple. Kirshan Kumar, one of participants of the protest, said that some influential persons belonging to ruling party had encroached upon the land and demanded action against encroachers.
To a query about the encroachment, AIG legal Ali Sher Jakhrani submitted that IG Sindh had formed a committee headed by SP Hyderabad to look into the matter and the report of committee on the matter is awaited. The Chief Justice directed him to place the report before the court by Tuesday and adjourned hearing of the case.
