Additional Inspector General Police (AIGP) Karachi, Ghulam Qadir Thebo, has directed strict checking at entry and exit points of metropolis to monitor and check movement of criminal elements in the guise of internally displaced persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan Agency.
In current security scenario, the AIGP said in a set of directives issued here on Monday, police has to remain vigilant and take co-ordinated and effective steps for maintaining law and order. Station House Officers should refrain from conflicts of jurisdiction and carry out action under police rules, he said and added that negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.
He further directed that surveillance of suspects released on bail should be done by station intelligence officers with special focus on fourth schedule criminals and report in this regard be submitted on weekly basis. Emphasising immediate registration of FIRs for ensuring dispensation of justice he said concerned SHO would be held responsible for delay in this regard.
The AIGP said that all SHOs should maintain liaison with SIOs in order to become aware of development in investigation of important cases and they should ensure mutual sharing of every information in this regard. He also stressed upon follow up of cases referred to other law enforcing agencies for completion of record.
