International day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking would be observed in Pakistan on June 26, to reiterate the commitment to fight against narcotics and create awareness among masses about this menace. Several activities will be held across the country including twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi by the Narcotics Control Division, Anti Narcotics Force, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes and NGOs etc.
Senior official of Narcotics Control division told APP regarding its arrangements to celebrate this day that various activities would also be arranged to mark the international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. He said that the ministry is finalising various activities and focus is being given to create awareness among youth. Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) Islamabad-Rawalpindi region has already launched an awareness campaign against drug abuse in connection with the World Anti Narcotics Day to be continued till June 26.
During this campaign, a series of lectures for the students of various educational institutions in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi would be organized till June 26. In this connection, the ANF has chalked out a comprehensive programme for creating awareness among youth, especially among students of colleges and universities.
