KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has assured that the affectees of operation in tribal belt including North Waziristan Agency not to feel them alone at this critical juncture of our history especially when they are faced with numerous difficulties due to military operation and IDPs migration.
Talking to a 25-member delegation of North Waziristan Qaumi Jirga led by Engineer, Rehmatullah Dawar, he said that the entire nation is with them and feeling their pains as such. The delegation called on him in the Speaker Chamber of KP Assembly and apprised him of the plight of millions of IDPs entering Bannu and other settled areas via Saidgai check post.
Speaker KP Assembly Asad Qaisar, Senior Minister Finance Siraj-Ul-Haq, Senior Minister Health Shahram Khan Tarkai, Minister LG&RD Inayatullah, Minister Education Muhammad Atif Khan, Minister E&T Mian Jamsheduddin Kakakhel and Assembly members including Shaukat Ali Yousaf Zai, Muzaffar Said Advocate, Dr Haider Ali. He said that PTI led coalition government has initiated relief measures for IDPs of NWA on emergency grounds. However he said we also knew that the arrangements of shelter, food and health facilities for millions of abruptly influx of IDPs is impossible in short span of time but we will spare no efforts to discharge our this national obligation in befitting manner by working round the clock.
Pervez Khattak assured resolution of the problems and demands presented by the delegation on priority basis including registration of the IDPs, shelter, food, police attitude, education and health of their children, compensation for those died during migration and free movement of their non-custom-paid vehicles. He made it clear that Commissioner Bannu has been directed to keep close liaison with IDPs and their representatives whereas more powers and resources are also being delegated to the commissioner for this purpose. He said that every issue of the IDPs will be considered as top most priority of the provincial government and will be solved on emergent basis.
