Pakistan Industrial and Traders Association Front (PIAF), at a meeting held on Monday, appreciated Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for making efforts to get rid of energy crisis.
PIAF Chairman Malik Tahir Javed presided over the meeting, which was also attended by LCCI Executive Committee Members Babar Mahmood Chaudhry, Zafar Mahmood, Maqsood Butt, Talha Tayyab Butt, Rizwan Ali Khalid, former Chairmen PIAF Mian Anjum Nisar, Sheikh Muhammad Arshad, Muhammad Ali Mian, Mian Abuzar Shad, Irfan Qaiser Sheikh and Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry. The participants passed a resolution in this regard.
The meeting expressed satisfaction over initiating of a number of coal and solar power projects including completion of Nandipur Power project. The participants were of the view that the previous regime had never bothered to add a single megawatt to the distribution system. Because of power outages a large number of industrial units were shifted to other countries leaving million of industrial workers jobless.
As such, the government did not give a ray of hope to the only local business community but also sent a positive signal to the foreign investors. The incorporation of a number of business community's proposals in the federal budget shows that government in general and the Punjab Chief Minister in particular wants to make atmosphere conducive for the business doing people, they added.
