Pakistan People's Party (PPP) threw its weight behind the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) by declaring it would not become a part of any move aimed at derailing the current system in the country. Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly and PPP's central leader Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah said in a statement that the government should not make any mistake that lead to any misadventurism, as agitations do not result in removal of governments.
Another PPP leader, Senator Farhatulah Babar, said the party will not support any move to derail democracy, adding that if the system is derailed we all have to suffer. Referring to the arrival of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri, he said that Qadir has taken oath of allegiance to Canada and it was beyond comprehension how he could claim to remain loyal to Constitution of Pakistan.
