Pakistan Army and Balochistan government have evolved strategy in the wake of likely threats and blow back of the Zarb-e-Azb operation in South Waziristan. Commander Southern Command, Lieutenant General Nasser Khan Janjua, Inspector General of Police Balochistan Mohammad Amlish Khan, Secretary Home Akbar Hussain Durani, Commissioner Quetta Qambar Dashti, senior military and civil officials attended the joint security conference held in Headquarters Southern Command.
After having reviewed the existing threat and likely blow back of Operation Zarb-e-Azb in Balochistan, various decisions were taken to bolster the security of citizens. "Safety of the citizens and security of all important installations will be ensured at all cost," the meeting reiterated, adding that perpetrators of terror would be dealt with an iron hand.
They agreed to establish Joint Control Rooms at Provincial and District level with the help of all segments of civil administration and Law Enforcement Agencies. These Control Rooms will be working round the clock for facilitating the citizens. Telephones will be installed in each Control Room which will be notified to the citizens. Citizens have been requested to intimate any suspicious activity or presence of unknown persons to these Control Rooms. Citizens have also been requested to intimate any terrorist activity in their vicinity. It has been assured that particulars of the citizens will be kept confidential. Citizens have been requested to cooperate with the Law Enforcement Agencies as these measures were being taken for the safety of the citizens.
