Jamaat-e-Islami ameer and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Finance, Siraj-ul-Haq castigating the federal government for poor arrangements and facilities for internally displaced people from North Waziristan Agency. He asked the Federal government to give Rs 50,000 per IDP, as the announced Rs 7,500 is joke with the military operation affected families of the tribal agency, said in a statement issued by Al-Markaz Islami Peshawar on Monday.
JI ameer said that the camps have been set up for internally displaced persons of North Waziristan agency at Abakhel area of Frontier Region-Bannu, which are not feasible for staying of military operation affected families there. He maintained the IDPs are not ready to live in the government-established makeshift camps due to inadequate facilities.
He said the Federal government fully informed about huge masses exodus in result of operation in North Waziristan Agency, so it need to take appropriate steps and arrangements before launching of military action in the tribal agency. But, he said it wasn't happen like that, which causing major difficulties for IDPs families, particularly women and children, which were reaching at Bannu and other districts by walking miles on foots from NWA. Siraj-ul-Haq said the federal government attitude is cropping up anger and unrest among the affected families, as the announced relief amount insufficient for them He urged the international relief organisation and institutions to extend every possible support for internally dislocated people of North Waziristan Agency.
Commenting on visit of Chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek Dr Tahirul Qadri; Siraj-ul-Haq said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has mishandled the issue. If the plane of Qadri was grounded in Islamabad, so what can happen from that, he questioned. We want to flourishing democracy and are against any anti-democratic movement. Let the democratic elected government to complete its five year constructional period, JI ameer said. He, however, said a democratic government should not adopt any undemocratic way to deal with any situation. He added that every body, party or organisations have completely availed right to convey their message to people. Whatever steps being taken by federal government, it seems that rulers in Islamabad are looking helpless and taking immature steps, he added. JI ameer called for revisiting internal and external policies, and should formulate all policies in best interest of the people of the country.
