The provincial assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday unanimously expressed solidarity with the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Waziristan military operation and urged all the provinces to open their doors for the affected and displaced people while keeping in view their sacrifices for the sake of the country and make suitable arrangements for them.
The joint opposition in the KP Assembly put a resolution on the floor of the House which was presented by Shaukat Ali Yousafzai of PTI was also carrying the signatures of KP Opposition Leader Maulana Lutf-ur-Rehman, Sikandar Hayat Sherpao of QWP, Mohammad Ali of JI, Aurangzeb Nalotha of the PML-N and Syed Mohammad Ali Shah Bacha of the PPP.
Through the resolution, the house expressed sorrow over the reports that some provinces had banned the entry of the affectees of Waziristan operation, which is an open violation of the Constitution of Pakistan. It said as the Fata is the part of Pakistan therefore these affected people enjoy equal rights in the provinces. The resolution while paying rich tributes to the sacrifices of tribesmen demanded of all provincial governments for making suitable arrangements for their boarding and lodging.
Through the resolution it was also demanded of the federal government that the presently established camps for IDPs are not on the suitable spots. Therefore, keeping in view the provision of facilities the IDPs camps should be established on easily accessible areas. It was also demanded of the federal government that the payment of the amount of Rs 7000/- per family is a peanut, which will not meet the requirements of IDPs families and they are in difficult situation. Therefore, the federal government should offer suitable financial package for them.
