Minister of State for Communications Abdul Hakeem Baloch has said that ensuring efficiency and discipline in Ministry of Communications' subsidiary organisations is his prime objective. He expressed these views during his visit to Enemy Property Office, and later on, to National Transport Research Center (NTRC). Joint Secretary Ministry of Communications Mohtarma Amna Imran and other concerned officials also accompanied him on this occasion.
During a briefing in the Enemy Property Office, the Minister of State was told that all available resources will be brought into use to safeguard and preserve enemy property. At NTRC, the Minister of State was warmly received on his arrival. Joint Secretary Communications Mohtarma Amna Imran, while briefing the Minister at NTRC, gave an overview of the objectives and working of NTRC and said that research is going on in this Center since 1974 with local and international aid from concerned organisations.
At NTRC, not only ongoing projects are completed but new projects are also devised and launched with technical and financial aid from donor organisations, the Joint Secretary added. She also urged to take concrete steps to resolve the issues faced by NTRC. The Minister was told that NTRC is the only R & D institute in the public sector that is active in research in all areas of transport since 1974. The Minister of State Abdul Hakeem Baloch stressed the need to further improve the working of NTRC in the field of transport research and development to help create awareness about road safety, safe driving and traffic laws among the public.-PR
