KP MPAs announced to donate one-month salary for IDPs Welfare Fund established for the displaced families from North Waziristan Agency while the chief secretary on behalf of the employees has also announced one-day salary for the same fund. This was disclosed by Senior Minister for Finance, Siraj-ul-Haq, while addressing KP Assembly session on IDPs issue here on Tuesday.
On this occasion, Malik Riaz of JUI-F announced to donate six-month salary and his other incentives for the Welfare Fund of IDPs. Speaker Asad Qaiser said that he has already donated his salary to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and announced his other incentives for the IDPs Fund. Shah Mohammad, a PTI MPA from Bannu also donated two salaries and incentives in this regard.
The senior minister while agreeing with the proposals of the legislators from both Opposition and treasury benches announced holding of All Parties Conference (APC) on June 28 in KP to consult political leaders on the issues of terrorism and displaced persons. He said during the conference the political leadership will be consulted on the national issues.
He said that during the outgoing financial year maximum funds have been released for increasing the strength and provision of equipment to police for guaranteeing law and order in the province. Similarly, he said education also remained as top priority and will remain the same in future too. He said that the reformative institutes established in the province during last one year have no precedent in the history. He said that such institutes increase the expenses of the provincial government.
Earlier, in his speech on supplementary budget, Opposition leader Maulana Lutf-ur-Rehman called for provision of relief to the families displaced due to operation in NWA. He was critical of the reports of restrictions on the entry of the IDPs to some provinces. He said that tribesmen are true patriotic Pakistanis and no one can snatch constitutional rights from them.
Earlier, Raja Faisal Zaman of PML-N, Mufti Fazal Ghafoor (JUI-F), Aurangzeb Nalotha (PML-N), Nighat Yasmin Orakzai (PPP), Qurban Ali Khan (PTI), Meraj Hamayun, Sardar Idrees (PTI) and Fredrik Azeem Ghauri (PML-N) also appreciated the sacrifices of the tribesmen and called for provision of relief and traditional hospitality to IDPs.
