Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani said police Jawans who excelled in line of duty are the real "Heros" and "Assets" of the force. This he said while addressing an award-giving ceremony for Battagram and Mansehra police at CPO on Tuesday. The Battagram police arrested a notorious and brutal proclaimed offender Aziz-ur-Rahman in a raid by taking risk of life.
The accused beside several murder and attempted-murder cases was also wanted to police in brutal killing of two famous businessmen of Thakot Bazar namely Shamsul Ameen and Gul Faraz. He also put on fire their jeep and snatched Rs 4 million from them in the said incident. The government had also fixed Rs 5 million head-money of the accused. People of the area expressed trust on the performance of the police and garlanded the Jawans who took part in the raid.
Similarly, the Mansehra police arrested two teenagers for killing a five-year-old girl after sexual abuse within four hours of the incident. Speaking on the occasion, the IGP highly commended the bravery of the Battagram police and quick action of the Mansehra police in the above mentioned cases.
The IGP informed that police duty is full of challenges and those who embolden with courage can make notch for themselves in the force. The IGP informed that a summery has been moved to the govt and after its approval fast track promotion will be given to the Jawans who showed excellent performance in line of duty. The IGP urged the awardees to further pull off their sleeves and come heavily on the anti-social elements. On this occasion the IGP awarded the police officers and jawans with commendation certificates and cash prizes.
They included SP investigation Abdul Majeed Afridi, DSP Headquarters Zulfiqar Jadoon, Inspectors Ahmad Hussain, Khursheed Ahmad, Sub Inspectors Abdur Rahshid, Mukhtiar Ahmad, ASIs Asim Amam Bukhari, Amir and In charge QRF Ehitisham Shah of Mansehra police and DSP Arshad Masud, SI Arshad Khan, HCs Muhammad Nawaz, Saifullah and Constables Hasham Khan and Anwar Ali of Battagaram police.
