Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan desires to develop efficient, effective and transparent mechanism at Torkham point along Pak-Afghan border with the basic aim at resolving grievances of travellers having genuine documents and encourage normal trade and business activities through this international trade land route.
He was presiding over a high level meeting held at Governor's House, Peshawar, on Tuesday, which was also attended by Amjad Ali, Chief Secretary Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Tariq Bajwa, Chairman, Federal Board of Revenue Ghalib Ali Bangash, Director General, FIA, Additional Chief Secretary, FATA, Arbab Muhammad Arif, Director General Nadra Peshawar and senior officers of the other concerned departments and agencies including Pak Army and Frontier Corps.
The participants in the meeting after having detail review of the ground situation also highlighted various measures on part of their respective departments and organisations which are underway to ensure smooth flow of traffic possible. A committee headed by ACS Fata Arbab Muhammad Arif and comprising other concerned government organisations is constituted to develop proper mechanism and to put forward suggestions within a week for making this possible. The Governor said there is a need that special efforts are put in by all concerned to make effective contribution of their respective divisions, departments and organisations in this respect possible.
