Punjab Assembly discussed the demand for grants of supplementary budget, here on Wednesday. The supplementary budget, which is expected to over Rs 21 billion, would be passed on Thursday (today). In the session, opposition members were not allowed to present their resolution asking resignation of the Chief Minister Punjab. They later on staged a walkout.
Leader of the Opposition Mahmud-ur-Rashid demanded resignation of the Punjab chief minister over Lahore tragedy. Opposition parties later in the assembly premises castigated the provincial government for law and order situation and police excesses in the Model Town incident.
Also on the day, a resolution was submitted in the house by PPP MPA Khurram Jhangir terming the statement of breaking of KPK assembly by PTI leader Imran Khan undemocratic.
The legislator while submitting his resolution pointed that statement of PTI leader will lead to undemocratic healthy trends in the country.
Meanwhile, Law Minister Rana Mashood speaking in the assembly premises said the PML-N government was determined to transform Pakistan into a modern welfare-state.
He said, people have seen real faces of leaders like Tahirul Qadri. He said, arbitrary act of PAT chief had maligned the country internationally.
The Minister said, at a time when history's most crucial Zarb-e-Azb operation was being carried out and the whole nation was praying for its success, the country could not afford protests and rallies.
He urged the opposition parties to behave decently so that a message could be conveyed to the world.
