The Supreme Court on Wednesday disposed of a contempt of court petition filed against alleged illegal appointments in Port Qasim Authority (PQA). A three-member bench headed by Justice Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani heard a petition filed by dysfunctional Secretary Abdul Jabbar Memon regarding alleged illegal appointments in PQA. Chairman Port Qasim Authority (PQA) Agha Jan Akhtar told the bench that a transparent scrutiny process was being carried out by the authority against all the alleged illegal appointments made in PQA Agha Jan Akhtar said that the scrutiny process would be completed in six months while strict action would be taken against the persons involved in illegal appointments. He said that as many as 97 people from grade 2 to 15 and 7 persons from grade 17 to 21, who were appointed illegally in the authority, had already been removed.
