Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri, has dispelled the speculations that he is going to make a grand political alliance of opposition parties saying "toppling the government is not his agenda". He was talking to newsmen after having a meeting with PML (Q) leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, AML leader Sheikh Rashid Ahmad Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) leader Allama Amin Shaheedi and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) chief Hamid Raza
Qadri announced to convene an All-Parties' Conference over Model Town tragedy on June 29. He said that unarmed citizens were murdered during the Model Town carnage and it was a matter of concern for all national parties. Qadri said that he would never retract from the agenda of a 'peaceful' struggle for the establishment of new system that empowers the masses.
He said, "The struggle will continue until the 'system of cruelty' ends". In reply to a query, PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that the discussion on 10-point agenda has been postponed for another time, saying that only convening of APC was discussed in today's meeting. Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) chief Hamid Raza also said that the meeting only discussed Model Town tragedy and its repercussion on the national politics. Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) leader Allama Amin Shaheedi also spoke on the occasion.
