The rupee drifted slightly lower against the dollar and euro on the currency market on Saturday, dealers said. The rupee shed five-paisa in relation to the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 99.15 and Rs 99.35, they said. The rupee followed the same pattern in terms of the euro, losing 25-paisa for buying and selling at Rs 134.25 and Rs 134.50, they said. At the week-end, the dollar was lower amid trading.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee maintained rising trend against the greenback on the local currency market on Saturday.
According to the currency dealers, the dollar resumed trading at its day earlier closing of Rs 99.05 and Rs 99.30 as its buying and selling rate, respectively. In the absence of buyers' interest, the dollar could not sustain and was declined to Rs 99.00 and Rs 99.25 on buying and selling side, respectively, the dealers said.
However, the rupee-pound sterling parity remained unchanged amid low trading activity. The pound was traded at its Friday closing of Rs 167.75 and Rs 168.00 on buying and selling counter, respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee remained firm against the dollar on the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Saturday.
The dollar opened at Rs 98.50 (buying) and Rs 98.60 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 98.50 (buying) and Rs 98.60 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 165 (buying) and Rs 165.50 (selling) against same last rate. It closed at the same rate without further change by the end of evening session.
