To make sure that there are no innocent civilians still left in North Waziristan Agency, announcements are being made for any stranded tribals who may have stayed back for any reason, to leave also. There are reports that after the surrender of 19 terrorists so far, more terrorists may lay down arms. Last evening PAF jet aircrafts destroyed 6 confirmed terrorists' hideouts on the outskirts of Mir Ali, killing 11 terrorists.
According to a press release issued by ISPR, terrorist's concentrations were targeted early morning on Saturday by integrated fire of artillery, tanks and heavy weapons outside Miranshah in North Waziristan Agency, killing 7 terrorists. TTP commander of Miranshah, Commander Umer has been killed by security forces Friday night on the outskirts of Miranshah.
One prominent al Qaeda commander has been arrested while trying to flee from the surrounded area in NWA. Initial interrogation shows him as an explosive, IED, suicide belt expert. Three terrorists were arrested by security forces while they were trying to cross Indus River near Mianwali. All crossing places along the river are currently manned to seal any escape for the terrorists.
Effective cordon around terrorist hideouts is in place around all places in North Waziristan Agency. Supply and distribution of rations to IDPs is gradually improving. 21,543 packets of 110-kg of rations in each have been distributed among IDPs at 6 relief delivery points established by Army in collaboration with civil administration at Bannu, DI Khan and Tank. After initial cash disbursement manually, the process of disbursement through mobile SIMs has been launched, for which SIMs are being distributed to families as well.
Since IDPs have moved their cattle also with them, to help them sustain their cattle, 11 tons of fodder for cattle and other animals have also been distributed at Bannu, Tank and DI Khan. Through a special civil-military veterinary set up, 4,488 cattle have been provided veterinary treatment while 28,345 poultry vaccinated. The nation is pledging ration, money and other relief goods, and is enthusiastically depositing their contributions at collection points established by the Army across the country. Collection points have been increased up to 53 now across the country where up till now 131 tons of ration has been collected and dispatched to Bannu. A field medical hospital established by Army medical Corps at Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital, Bannu is providing medical care to patients round-the-clock. Mobile medical teams are also being sent out to various areas where IDPs are residing.-PR
