The United States has extended full co-operation to Pakistan against war on terrorism and military operation in North Waziristan including other sectors. The State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf during a daily press briefing said that North Waziristan operation is led and executed entirely by Pakistan. The statement said that the US has long supported Pakistani efforts to extend writ of government throughout the country and to increase internal stability.

The spokeswoman further said that US is closely monitoring the situation of displaced persons in Pakistan. "We do understand that the Government of Pakistan is working with the appropriate international and donor organisations to ensure that assistance is in place for displaced peoples and their families. The USG is a major contributor to such organisation - organisations, excuse me, and we stand ready to assist the IDPs in any way we can," she remarked. To a question, she said "we are working with the Government of Pakistan not just on security issues like our shared counterterrorism interests but also on education and economic issues and energy issues. We work together on a whole host of topics." The spokesperson said Pakistan is facing many challenges and US authorities are committed to work with them.
