The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday ordered Director General Rangers to take all possible measures to trace out a citizen allegedly picked up by Rangers personnel and submit a report. This direction came on a petition filed by Syeda Ahbab Fatima, who approached the court seeking court directives to law enforcement agencies (LEAs) for recovering her spouse.
A division bench led by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar issued notice to official respondents' home secretary, director general Rangers, provincial police chief, SSP Central and two Rangers officials to file comments on petition by July 10. The woman petitioner, a resident of Golimar area, submitted that her husband Amanat Abbas left home to buy medicine from Imam Zian-ul-Abdin Hospital, Rizvia Society, on June 24 but did not return home. She said that her spouse has been missing since then and she had learnt through some sources that he was picked up by Rangers personnel.
