The University of Agriculture Faisalabad Syndicate (UAFS) okayed Rs 3.901 billion budget for the financial year of 2014-15. The session was chaired by UAF Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. Justice Yawar, Higher Education Commission Executive Director Dr Mansoor Akbar Kundi, HEC Quality Assurance Adviser Dr Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, Additional Secy Agriculture Ahmad Ali, Additional Secy Livestock Khurshed Zaidi, Director Local Fund Audit Amir Saeed, Registrar Chaudhry Muhammad Husain and other notables attended the meeting. Treasurer Muhammad Umer Saeed presented the budget.
The House approved non-development budget worth Rs 2811.677 million against the income Rs 2535.061 with Rs 276.616 million deficit, whereas development budget is Rs 1089.937 million. From Federal Government, development budget stands at Rs 289.937 million and from the provincial government, it is Rs 800 million.
It is the highest funds from the Punjab government for the university as compared to past years. The Vice Chancellor said the Punjab Chief Minister initiatives worth Rs 800 million will equip the varsity with new facilities including modern 1,000 bed hostels for girls, Bio-Energy Research Institute and UAF Burewala sub-campus. It will prove tangible in term of flourishing the sector.
