The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police beside in the war against terror has also excelled in the field of sports. This he said while addressing an award distribution ceremony held at CPO Peshawar on Monday. The ceremony had been arranged in honour of Chitral police team which won the Annual Shandur Polo festival the other day.
It may be recalled that the Chitral police team has won the tournament by defeating the sub division Mastooj team 10 to 5 goals. Addressing the ceremony the IGP informed that in spite of limited resources and required facilities winning of such important tournament was great achievement of the Chitral police. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have all rich qualities of head and hearts and the department will keep continue patronage of the Chitral police in a befitting manner.
The IGP informed that Chitral police had added another feathers in the rich cap of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police by winning this world known tournament and all available resources would be utilised for the encouragement of the players. The IGP hoped that the Chitral police will keep continue the winning spree in future too and will bring more laurels for the force. On this occasion the IGP awarded the winning team with cash prizes of Rs 2 lakh and commendation certificate.
The member of the team included Coach Mohsin-ul-Mulk, (Captain) Head Constable Ehsanullah Niazi, Sub Inspector Akbar Khan and Constables Ashfaq Ahmad, Shafi-ur-Rahman, Shuja-ul-Haq and Manzoor Elahi. Additional IGP Headquarters Mian Muhammad Asif, DIG Headquarters Mubarak Zeb Khan, AIG Establishment Syed Fida Hassan Shah and PSO to IGP Sohaib Ashraf were also present on this occasion.
