The month-long painting exhibition of a prominent Pakistani artist Khusro Subzwari has started in Dubai in connection with the holy month of Ramazan. The "Flight to Enlightenment" exhibition is a collection of artworks dwelling on the philosophy of Maulana Rumi's poetry, on which Subzwari has worked for the past three years.
The exhibition was opened by Jimmy Engineer, country's well known social worker and artist, at the Z Gallery at the Four Points by Sheraton in Dubai recently. Subzwari, who had worked in different forms and styles like landscapes, cityscapes, abstract and others, has put his deep feelings on canvas to represent Maulana Rumi's poetry. He has showcased his paintings in different cities of Pakistan and also participated in various international exhibitions in Istanbul, London and the UAE. He has also exhibited and represented Pakistan at the International Art Fair in Lugano, Switzerland, in November 2012.
Subzwari told that he started painting the whirling dervishes since he visited Turkey while attending his solo exhibition. "For the past three years, I have been painting and so far have painted over 500 paintings based on different verses of Rumi poetry. Many of the paintings are now in private collection of art lovers," he said.-PR
