Hashoo Foundation conducted a prestigious award ceremony to honour the graduating trainees of its "Skills Training and Income Generation Project for Urban Afghan Refugees." The graduates received their approved certification from the Skill Development Council, Government of Pakistan, says a press release issued here on Saturday.
The event celebrated the efforts of the high achieving graduates and it acknowledged the Foundation's role in uplifting the living standards of the marginalized Afghan refugees with the financial support of the US State Department, Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (BPRM).
Hashoo Foundation (HF) began the "Skills Training and Income Generation Project for Urban Afghan Refugees" in July 2010 with the aim to improve the livelihoods of the vulnerable, urban based Afghan refugees residing in Peshawar, Attock, Rawalpindi and Islamabad, by imparting employable skills training and facilitating their job placement. The project provides comprehensive 6-month training courses that combine theory with on the job training, with nine different trades to choose from, ranging from Beautician to Electrician skills. The event was graced by notable individuals that included: Ali Akbar, Country Director Hashoo Foundation, M.
