Tribal NGOs consortium has urged the KP government to allow local and international NGOs and donor agencies to extend assistance to IDPs in general and children of the displaced persons in particular. According to a report prepared by the NGOs, the total number of children of IDPs is around 2.5 million so for who suffer hardships.
The children need dry milk, nets to be protected from mosquitoes, food, biscuits, garments, shoes, schools, drinking water etc. Furthermore, those IDPs who have arrived by road from North Waziristan to Bannu and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa they have been formally registered but there are many more IDPs who have come through mountains and they need registration.
A centre has been established for missing children where they are being provided shelter, food and other necessities. One of the participants said that a tractor trolley was taking three families which overturned and immediately four children died and 16 other were injured. Due to harsh summer weather many children have died. Many suffer from diarrhea, dehydration, scabies, and many more diseases, NGO consortium mentioned.
