Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Health Khawaja Salman Rafiq has directed all departments concerned to take effective measures for dengue control at town level. He said intense dengue surveillance is required to check the dengue breeding during monsoon season and added that spread of dengue should be controlled at any cost. He was presiding over Town Emergency Response Committee's meetings in Gulberg Town and Ravi Town separately, here on Thursday.
Assistant Commissioner Model Town Tariq Munir Chandio, TMO Agha Humayun Hafeez, EDO Health Dr Zulfiqar Ali, DDO (H) Dr Faisal, Additional Director General Epidemic Emergency and Response Dr Islam Zafar, District Dengue Programme Co-ordinator Dr Farrukh and the officers of departments concerned attended the meeting in Gulberg Town. During the meetings, presentations were given regarding the dengue control activities by different departments. The officers briefed the meeting regarding outdoor and indoor dengue surveillance, larvicidal activities, condition and stock of spray and fogger machines, chemicals and the steps taken for public awareness campaign. Khawaja Salman Rafiq expressed his dissatisfaction over the data of dengue surveillance and directed that correct data should be prepared and performance should not be exaggerated.
