The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday issued a fresh notice to the House Station Officer (SHO) of Sachchal Goth police station to submit an explanation as to why he failed to show up in the court for filing his comments in the petition against alleged fake encounter. A division bench of the SHC, headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, expressed its displeasure over the absence of SHO Sachchal Goth police station despite the court's directions. It once again directed him to appear before the court on July 10 and submit explanation as to why he did not appear on Friday.
The bench was hearing a petition filed by Ms Sultana, who moved the court seeking probe into the murder of her son, Zahid Khan, allegedly killed in a fake encounter by the Sachchal Goth police. The petitioner submitted that her son was picked up by the SHO of Sachchal Goth police station on July 01 from her residence in Ayub Goth near Superhighway, Malir. She said she later learnt through reliable sources that her son was murdered in a fake encounter on July 02 by the Sachchal police.
