Total 490 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122's Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours; in which 11 lives were lost and 404 seriously injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 177 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first aid on the spot.
According to data 171 drivers, 10 underage drivers, 88 pedestrians and 333 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 95 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 106 persons placing the provincial capital at top of the list followed by 48 RTAs in Faisalabad with 53 victims and Gujranwala at third position with 41 RTAs and 42 victims. The details further show total 592 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 491 males and 101 females, while age group of the victims show that 84 were under 18 year of age, 318 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 190 victims were reported above 40 years.
