The marketing companies on Sunday increased the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Rs 10 per kg with immediate effect. The price of domestic cylinder has been increased by Rs 120 and commercial cylinder by Rs 450.
All Pakistan LPG Distributors Association Chairman Irfan Khokar termed the increase unjustified saying that the government producers such as Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), PSO and PARCO did not increase the price of LPG.
He said the new price of LPG in Karachi was Rs 100 per kg. The LPG would be sold in Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Hyderabad and Sheikhupura at Rs 110 per kg with domestic cylinder at Rs 1,270. While in Mirpur, Multan, Bhawalpur, DG Khan, Peshawar, Kohat and Bannu, LPG would be available at Rs 115 per kg and domestic cylinder Rs 1,330, he added.
He said that in Rawalpindi and Islamabad the LPG would be sold at 130 per kg with domestic cylinder at Rs 1,510.
He said the new price of LPG in Muree, Muzafrabad and Fata was Rs 140 per kg and domestic cylinder Rs 1,630.
Meanwhile, the association has convened a meeting on July 9 to discuss issues concerning black marketing of LPG.
