Subsidies on wheat flour: Supreme Court asks officials to submit reports

The Supreme Court on Monday redirected all the provincial food secretaries to provide reports pertaining to a subsidy on wheat flour and its availability in the country. A three-judge bench led by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja was hearing a petition filed by Jamaat-i-Islami Secretary General Liaquat Baloch against high prices of wheat flour in the country. The bench issued directives to all the provincial food secretaries to come up with details of the subsidy on wheat flour during the next date of hearing and adjourned the matter till July 8 (today).
