National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) in order to help resolve the issues concerning K-Electric has decided to convene a meeting on July 14 at Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), it is learnt here on Monday.
According to sources, the meeting is being held on the request of the KCCI whose members are highly perturbed over inflated bills, prolonged loadshedding and frequent outages. The regulatory body has written a letter to K-Electric's chief executive officer (CEO), asking him to ensure that officials of the power utility must attend the meeting. Sources in KCCI said: "We have repeatedly raised our concerns with Nepra about the electricity issues being faced by our members. The aim behind the meeting is to apprise the K-Electric about hardships of the consumers and get its operations in terms of consumer affairs improved," they added.
